Film & Game Scoring Summer Program 2026
Presented by Derek Gleeson and the Film Scoring Academy of Europe
The 2026 edition of the Film & Game Scoring Summer Program marks a return to our original 2014 vision: a professional development experience focused on empowering emerging and established media composers through hands-on recording, elite instruction, and the integration of AI-enhanced music workflows.
This intensive summer residency takes place in the beautiful seaside city of Burgas, Bulgaria, and includes:
Four professional recording sessions, delivered in partnership with regional and international musicians; daily lectures and workshops by a globally respected faculty of composers, orchestrators, and hotel accommodation with breakfast included for all participants.
The 2026 program places a special emphasis on next-generation scoring workflows, including real-world integration of artificial intelligence in music creation, orchestration, preparation, and interactive adaptive scoring.
Participants receive high-quality video and audio documentation of their sessions for use in showreels and professional portfolios.
The Film Scoring Academy of Europe welcomes both seasoned professionals seeking to upgrade their portfolios and composers transitioning from related fields into media music scoring.
Please note: This program is not affiliated with Irish American University. All accreditation and institutional references to that entity have been removed following the Film Scoring Academy of Europe’s transition to independent operation and revised oversight.
Applications are accepted on a rolling basis until the program reaches capacity. Space is limited due to the personalized nature of the recording sessions.
